Why hire a robot

A CGI humanoid means weeks of work by a VFX studio, expensive rendering and the risk that the movement looks artificial on screen. A real robot in the frame solves that problem right on set. The camera captures real light, shadows and reflections on the metal body, so the scene looks credible without costly fine-tuning in post-production.

On a shoot the robot works like an actor that repeats the movement exactly the same way in every shot. That gives the director and the cinematographer certainty across multiple takes and in the edit. For wider scenes we can supply several models at once, so a whole group of robots appears on screen without digital cloning.
