What a humanoid robot does at an event
A humanoid robot at an event works in three modes. The first is the welcome: it stands at the entrance, shakes hands, waves and makes a first impression that guests photograph before they hang up their coats. The second is the stage moment: it walks on stage at exactly the agreed second, dances, presents an award or unveils something new. The third is moving freely among guests, where the robot keeps up the atmosphere between points in the programme.
The robot is controlled by an operator who is on site from arrival until packing up. The operator takes care of movement, timing, battery swaps and safety. You set the programme, and we make sure the robot performs when the room is at its fullest.
Robot event formats that work
Each format has a different rhythm and a different space. Most events combine two or three of them.
- Welcome: the robot greets guests at registration, shakes hands and poses. Ideal for the first 60 to 90 minutes of the event.
- Stage moment: a short stage performance, a dance, an award presentation or a product unveiling. Three to five minutes that the audience films.
- Photo spot: the robot with a branded banner in a designated spot where guests take photos all evening.
- Moving among guests: the robot walks through the room, stops at tables and reacts to people.
- Tandem with the robot dog: the humanoid in the hall, the robot dog ORYX on the terrace or at the entrance.
What a robot cannot do at an event
A humanoid robot is not a host and does not hold a free conversation. It does not carry drinks trays or climb stairs. It does not work on thick carpet or wet paving. It cannot last the whole evening without a break: the battery lasts about two hours of active operation, and then the operator swaps it.
We say this up front, because a good event with a robot depends on the right expectations. The robot is strong in short, precisely timed moments and in visual content. What a day with a robot at an event looks like
An example for an evening event starting at 18:00. We adapt the times to your programme.
- 16:45 operator arrives, unpacks the robot from the transport case, checks the space and the socket
- 17:30 choreography rehearsal on stage, coordination with the sound engineer and host
- 18:00 to 19:15 welcome at registration, handshakes, photos
- 19:15 battery swap, break
- 20:00 stage moment according to the script, three to five minutes
- 20:15 to 21:30 photo spot or moving among guests in blocks
- 21:45 packing up, handover of photos and video from the deployment by agreement
Safety around guests
The robot moves only in a space the operator has checked in advance. It keeps a safe distance from guests, and with children the operator stands right next to the robot. The robot needs a flat, dry area of about 3 × 3 metres without cables or thresholds. During the welcome and photos, guests come to the robot, not the other way round, so the operator always has the situation under control. Which robot to choose for an event
MONTARI (Unitree G1) is the choice for indoors, the stage and the welcome. It dances, shakes hands, poses and holds the attention of the room. ORYX (Unitree Go2) is the robot dog for outdoors, terraces and moving through crowds. For most events we recommend the humanoid; for an outdoor event or a large space, a combination of both.

How long can the robot work at an event?
All evening, but in blocks. The battery lasts about two hours of active operation, then the operator swaps it for a charged one. We plan the programme so that swaps fall into breaks.
Can the robot say something custom, such as the company name or the name of an award winner?
Yes, we prepare short inserts in advance in the script. The robot does not hold a free conversation, but it delivers agreed lines and gestures precisely.
Do we need a stage for the robot?
No. A flat, dry area of about 3 × 3 metres is enough. If you have a stage, the robot goes up a ramp or the operator lifts it on; stairs are ruled out.
Can we brand the robot?
Yes. We prepare a branded banner, clothing or accessories in brand colours. We go through the options in advance based on the robot model and the nature of the event.
