Unitree G1 vs H1: which humanoid is better for an event?

Unitree G1 vs H1: a quick overview of the differences

The Unitree G1 and H1 are the two best-known humanoid robots from the manufacturer Unitree, but each targets a different kind of experience. The G1 is a compact, agile and nimble machine with a height of approximately 132 cm and a weight of around 35 kg. The H1, by contrast, is a full-size humanoid on a human scale, measuring roughly 180 cm and weighing approximately 47 kg, so it comes across as a real figure in the room.

Put simply: the G1 is a nimble showman that impresses with dynamics and hand work, while the H1 is an imposing premium presence that draws the attention of the whole hall by its height and gait alone.

Height and physical presence at an event

Height matters more at an event than it seems. At approximately 180 cm the H1 stands face to face with a visitor like a person, which creates a strong wow effect from the very first contact. At gala evenings, product launches and premium corporate events it is exactly the presence guests remember and photograph.

At approximately 132 cm the G1 is shorter and more compact, which paradoxically opens up other possibilities. It moves more easily in a crowd and comes across as more approachable and less intimidating, so it is a great fit for interacting with people at a stand, for family events and for smaller spaces. MONTARI can thus be closer to the audience, and NOVA is ideal for schools and educational spaces, where the robot should be a natural part of the group.

Movement, walking and dynamics

Both robots are bipedal and handle stable walking, but the character of the movement differs. The H1 is built for fast and fluid locomotion, walks steadily at around 1.5 m/s and in demonstrations can break into a run of up to around 3.3 m/s. At an event that means a confident, almost human entrance of the robot into the room that looks elegant and controlled.

The G1 builds on agility and dexterity. At a walking speed of up to approximately 2 m/s it handles dynamic movements, squats, work in lower positions and spectacular sequences that look energetic and fun. If you want a robot that gets the audience moving and entertains them, MONTARI is the showman for exactly these moments.

Capabilities and interaction with the audience

The biggest difference in capabilities is hand work. The G1 has agile, dexterous hands that allow finer manipulation, gestures and interactive elements. Thanks to that the robot can come across as more personal, hand over a small item, show a movement or involve a visitor in a scene. That is why the G1 as MONTARI excels at entertaining and interactive appearances and NOVA at vivid demonstrations in teaching.

The H1 builds its strength on its overall figure and dignified movement. Its domain is not fine manipulation but representative presence, accompanying the programme and a visually powerful moment when a human-sized robot steps in among the guests.

When to choose the G1 and when the H1

Choose the G1, that is MONTARI or NOVA, if you want dynamics, close contact with people and interaction. It suits company days, store openings, trade fair stands, family and community events and educational events, where the robot should impress with agility and a friendly impression. The compact size also means easier deployment in smaller spaces.

The H1 makes sense where the goal is a premium impression and representation in a large space: gala evenings, product launches, opening ceremonies. We do not have the H1 in our fleet and we do not offer it for hire. For events of this kind we deploy the G1 as MONTARI, which with the right script and lighting makes an impression by its entrance alone, and at representative events we complement it with the robot dog ORYX.
