Energy industry
Energy sector automation for power and heat plants.
We control electricity and heat generation so that it runs cheaply, reliably and within emission limits. We supply control systems, instrumentation and control, operator workstations, data historians and optimisation across multiple sources at once.

Many sources, one control system.
Energy sector automation today is not about controlling a single boiler. District heating plants, incinerators and industrial energy centres combine gas engines, steam and hot water boilers, turbine generators, electric boilers, heat pumps, solar PV and storage. Each source has different costs, different constraints and a different start-up time. Without supervisory control, generation is expensive and fuel is burned unnecessarily. Every hour a more expensive source runs instead of a cheaper one shows up in your costs.
Our engineering team has supplied control, visualisation and optimisation systems to the energy sector for decades. We built the control system for a CHP plant with gas engines, integrated into an existing district heating plant with steam boilers and turbine generators, and on top of it an optimisation module that schedules electricity and heat generation across the units. At a waste incinerator we delivered the electrical scope, instrumentation and control and visualisation for a flue gas cleaning upgrade, where better combustion control reduces the formation of CO, TOC and NOx at the source.
We work from HV and LV electrical design through control panels, PLCs and drives to the historian and production portal. We connect maintenance directly to the control system, so the service schedule of the CHP units also determines which unit goes into operation. When modernising, we plan on the basis that heat and power supply must not fail, so we bring the new control online in stages. We work in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
What we automate in the energy sector.
CHP and boiler control
Control systems for gas engines, boilers and turbine generators on a redundant ring network, with fast start-up for grid ancillary services.
Electricity and heat generation optimisation
A supervisory module schedules output across sources according to prices and heat demand. The goal is minimum cost in combined generation.
Emissions under control
Control of the combustion process and flue gas cleaning so that CO, TOC and NOx concentrations stay within legal limits, even during start-up and load changes.
Data historian and production portal
All process variables in one historian. Trends, reports and analysis for dispatch, maintenance and management.
Maintenance linked to control
Preventive maintenance by running hours and calendar directly in the PLC, email and SMS notifications, and a service plan that generation scheduling takes into account.
Energy automation with renewables and storage
Solar PV, heat pumps, thermal storage and battery storage under one control system, so your own energy is used as effectively as possible.

Frequently asked questions.
Did not find your answer? Write to us and we will reply within 24 hours.
What does energy sector automation involve?
Control of individual sources such as boilers, CHP units or heat pumps, instrumentation and control, operator workstations and data collection. Above that sits supervisory control, which schedules generation across the sources, and a maintenance system. We deliver the whole package or individual parts.
Can you optimise electricity and heat generation from several sources?
Yes. Based on a mathematical model of the plant and current prices, we schedule output across the units so that combined generation is as cheap as possible while heat supply is met. We can also include heat and electricity storage.
Can an incinerator's emissions be reduced by changing the control?
Often, yes. Primary measures focus on the combustion process itself, and better control reduces the formation of CO, TOC and NOx at the source. Secondary measures deal with upgrading flue gas cleaning and sorbent dosing.
Do you also do electrical design and control panels for energy projects?
Yes. We carry out HV and LV design and instrumentation and control design, manufacture control panels, install, commission and arrange inspections. You get the project turnkey from a single supplier.
How much does modernising a plant's control system cost?
It depends on the number of units, the scope of instrumentation and control, the work needed on the power side and the requirements for redundancy and data historians. We give a fixed price after a site survey and a technical concept that also covers the changeover without interrupting supply.
Do you provide service for continuous operation?
Yes. We offer contract service with 24/7 standby, remote access to the control system and regular preventive maintenance. We also service solar PV and large-scale battery storage.
Tell us which sources you operate.
A list of units, your current control system and what you want to improve, whether costs, emissions or reliability, is enough. We will get back to you within 24 hours with a free consultation.
