A robot at the university and at specialist lectures

Students of computer science, natural sciences or education read about humanoid robots in articles. At a lecture or a faculty open day they see one live: how it keeps its balance, how it reacts to its surroundings and what is inside. The operator explains the sensors, the control system and what the robot cannot do yet, and takes questions from the audience. Primary and secondary schools: a demonstration pupils remember

At school, the robot works best as part of a STEM day, a project week or a secondary school recruitment event. A gym, an assembly hall or a larger classroom with a clear area of about 3 × 3 metres is enough. Programme ideas are in the article a robot at school and under the format robot for a STEM event. A typical session:

• A short introduction: what a humanoid robot is and what it is for
• A demonstration of movement, dance and balance
• Pupils' questions and an explanation of how the operator controls the robot
• A handshake and a class photo
• A safe distance, watched by the operator throughout

Public events and the city programme

At city celebrations, in a library or at a science day for the public, the robot attracts families with children and curious adults. Outdoors on a square or in a park we mainly use the robot dog ORYX; the humanoid performs in dry weather and ideally under cover.

Which robot for a classroom and which for the square

For a classroom, assembly hall or lecture we bring the humanoid MONTARI (Unitree G1). Pupils and students are most taken by the fact that it looks and moves much like a person, and it is an ideal way to explain how balance, sensors and control work. The robot dog ORYX (Unitree Go2) is the better choice for an outdoor programme, a school playground or a city festival. It runs, jumps and copes with uneven ground.

For a larger event, such as an open day with indoor and outdoor programme, we can bring both robots. Each gets its own zone and the operator coordinates the performance times.

Planning a day in Olomouc

The drive from Bratislava takes about two and a half hours. School starts early, so we either move the first block to later in the morning or the operator arrives the day before, with the overnight stay in the quote. The battery lasts about two hours of active use, so one day can cover several classes or groups in a row.

If several schools or faculties agree on neighbouring days, the journey is paid only once. Olomouc also combines well with an event in Zlín or Ostrava.

Robot hire starts from 1 000 € per day with an operator for multi-day hire, excluding VAT. Single-day events, the script and transport are priced in the quote. The invoice is issued by the Slovak company Montari s. r. o. We coordinate with your school or faculty in English, and the robot's spoken lines are prepared in advance in the language of your event.
